This is My Best!

| "This painting is titled "Red, White or Bleu?"
and it launched a series that has been my most successful to date!
"Living across the road from a winery, it was just a matter of
time until I painted something related to wine. Mirassou Vineyards
started using this cobalt blue bottle for one of their white wines, and
I immediately asked their marketing department if this was a permanent
change in bottle color. When they said a resounding YES!, I
gathered all these objects
together. |

| "For each painting, I set up a challenge
for myself of something that I have never painted before. This
keeps the painting fresh and exciting for me to do, always wondering
just how I am going to solve my current problem. In this case, I
had never painted any glass object that was against another piece of
glass. By setting up this challenge, I learned how to
"see" through the wine glasses and what sort of distortion
happens to the bottles.
"I published this painting as a giclee and it became the first
in a series of wine bottle paintings. This winery markets this
piece in their tasting room, plus I market it across the country in
several giclee galleries. I'm pleased to say that it is close to
being my first giclee edition that is nearly sold out!" ~ Karen
