Penny Soto's Steps to Watercolor  Morning Glory Blues
Now that you have successfully painted the leaves with "Under painting" and "Over painting" and lifting- we are now ready to paint the Morning Glories.

YUM, this is where you can use the delicious colors and make it glow! We want to keep a consistency of color throughout the flowers, because they are all the same, but you can paint them in all sorts of different "shades" to give the viewer a WOW! feeling.

Here are the steps up to this point!

I started the little bud in the middle top first, but you can start where ever you are comfortable. It's good to start next to a dark, so you can judge your VALUES better.

The colors I am using on this bud, is Windsor Violet, Blue Violet, or mix them together to create "Blue Violet" (but it will be sedimentary) Permanent Rose, Cad. Orange, Golden Lake and my favorite Sennilier's-my favorite- Yum Yum -Quinacridone Purple! (a good mixing color or by itself)

I use many, many different colors. I think that's what painting is all about, but you must be consistent with temperature and color in where you put them. So go ahead and start to "Under paint" all your Morning Glory's. Remember to have a nice even transition and know what you are going to put on top of it as your "Over painting". REMEMBER THE COMPLEMENTS.
