| Connie began her art career in her early and
mid school years at Santa Monica, Ca. and later majored in art at Santa Monica City and
Palomar Colleges. She continued to develop her natural talent by attending classes,
workshops, and seminars, conducted by such well known, master artists as Jane Burnham,
Charles Reid, as well as study at the Anthenaeum School of the Arts in La Jolla, Ca. She
also continues extensive study and experimental work in developing new techniques and
improving current skills and practices. Connie and her daughter Ursula opened Zekas Fine, Art Gallery and Studio, in April of '94 along with 10 associate artists. As the demands on time grew along with a ever growing career, it became clear she had to simplify her life in order to have more time to paint. The decision was to close the gallery, in fairness to all, in Oct. 97. "Zekas " works have won awards and her paintings hang in many private collections in the Southwest and New York. Also "Zekas " does murals and paintings by commission and conducts workshops, and classes. She has been teaching at Ocean Hills Country Club since '96, as well as teaching and doing demos since '94.
